sometimes my heart is lonesome and my skin seeks the beauty of another the brush of body parts and the tangle of breath in and out and in two halves of a whole where two wrongs make only right i hold onto laughter full and loud and precious my ears catch on whispers and my eyes look for tears i want the world but the world doesn’t want me when my heart is lonely                                       g.m.

he has so many words he doesn't know what to do he stores them in boxes and hides them on shelves on the day he runs out of space the phone rings and she appears "tell me your troubles tell me your fears" they trip off his tongue each syllable asking for help for understanding for forgiveness she files his words away all lined up for another day "don't worry any longer i'll teach you how to be stronger" she takes his hand and leads the way to a blank room with empty walls and empty bookshelves "start again" and she leaves him with a pen                                         g.m.

he hands her a vial sealed with a kiss gives her water with pills in return for sheer bliss their love belongs to alley ways back entrances and storage houses she never asks how he feels all his promises are coked up deals they like to trade lies at the crack of dawn he once fell asleep on her grandma's lawn she doesn't ask for much he's in it for the rush together, they leave romance in the dust                                          g.m.

2. what’s mine is yours today i walked across the sandy shore to where the waves kissed my feet and the wind brushed my back but something was missing: you so i imagined your hand in mine us running down the beach then racing to the nearest ice cream truck stopping to catch our breath losing it again in a kiss but the imagining pained me and i had to stop                              g.m.

i could write poems about the curve of your smile and the taste of your lips but i would rather gaze from afar fantasize about the way your body will fit around mine and miss what i never tried to have                                                   g.m.

1. memories remember your arms around me? how you held me so close and I breathed you in deep hoping your scent would never fade how we kissed first slow and sweet then faster, a kiss tainted with despair I never wanted to leave the warmth of your embrace but time is a cruel master and in those final moments your eyes held mine with such an intensity I could feel my heart b r e a k i n g and every step you took was a step too far away from me so I sit here now with tired eyes and a tired heart missing you                       g.m.

her dreams consist of desperate fools who long for better days she wonders at their strength and tries to learn their ways down on her luck she persists when suddenly BANG a light goes on inside she is warm a need for freedom is spreading it itches at her heart racing headlong she finds her answer to be strong is simple all it takes is this “hold your head high and cling tightly to bliss don’t stray and don’t lie and you’ll never need an alibi”

I want to brush my lips against yours feather light and lingering then harder, like a wave crashing on the shoreline I want to see our breath mingle in the frosty air and feel your hand resting on my hip claiming me silently as yours to care for The future is ours to share I want to dream up plans endlessly talking late into the night, until our voices are thick with sleep And then I want to turn around in our cocoon of sheets my hand finds yours silently our fingers slot together, a perfect fit I want breakfast food for dinner on Sunday nights while we watch our favorite shows and you rest your weary head on my shoulder I want the rumbl

she crushed bittersweet pills with her pearly white teeth and whispered to the cats that walked down lonely streets her eyes gleamed silver in the moonlight and she craved the freedom of driving at night when her friends had gone to bed she found it easier to speak with the dead they talked of times gone by her heart in her throat she would let out a sigh nostalgia was the poison of choice she dreamed of little girls and boys their hair short and voices loud how different then, how proud she wished for adventure to no longer be sad her wishes went unheard like so many others had with a heavy heart she rolled down grassy fields the cold hit
